The University of St. Thomas Performing and Fine Arts Society kicked off its annual membership drive at Glassell School of Art with a high tea on Thursday, May 1. The 8th annual Membership Tea offered the opportunity for guests to renew their memberships or join the Society, which works to provide students at UST access to quality educational opportunities in the arts. Membership proceeds support scholarships and enhance programming in music, drama and fine arts.

Recently, a guiding coalition of UST interdisciplinary faculty along with professionals working in non-profits including The Lighthouse of Houston, the Chinese Community Center and the San Jose Clinic gathered for a Human Services Management breakfast at University of St. Thomas. Recognizing a need in the non-profit field for academically trained professionals from an accredited university, St. Thomas is working to develop graduate-level education to address the need.

Each year, the Study USA program offers Northern Irish undergraduates the chance to study business and management in the United States for an entire academic year. Originally developed to assist with the Peace Process, Study USA sends students to American religious universities such as the University of St. Thomas.

University of St. Thomas Houston and Mainline, an esports platform and media company, have teamed up to develop academic programming that will give students a competitive advantage to enter the multi-million dollar world of esports commerce.

“WHAT CAN YOU DO IN ONE DAY?” That was the big question blasted out on email, social media and radio to promote the University of St. Thomas’s first annual Giving Day on April 24, a 24-hour campaign to raise funds for scholarships and other needs. In response, the UST community united to give more than $102,000 in support of UST!

The University of St. Thomas held its eighth annual Two Saints and a Taco Tasting competition at Saint Arnold Brewing Company on Thursday, April 25. More than $92,000 was raised in support of the UST Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, which will be awarded deserving students in the fall.
